Anthropia are a band from France that plays a mixture of neo-classical, progressive and power metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 album "Non Euclidean Spaces".
Classical guitars and symphonic sounds start off the album along with some demonic voices in the background and after the intro female vocals are added into the music along with some elements of electronic music which also leads up to a more heavy progressive metal direction which they also mix in with the symphonic elements.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and in certain sections of the recording you can also hear a small amount of spoken word parts and the acoustic guitars from the intro also make a return on some of the later tracks along with some songs also b ringing in male vocals and the songs also stick to mostly a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Anthropia plays a style that is mostly in the progressive metal genre but also adds in elements of power metal and neo-classical to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are based on the writings of H.P Lovecraft.
In my opinion Anthropia are a very great sounding mixture of neo-classical, progressive and power metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Melancholy Of RC" "Unknown Kadath" "The Snake Den" and "Credits". 8 out of 10.
