Hell's Chopper are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of hard rock and heavy metal and this is a review of their self released album "First Ride".
Sound effects and clean playing starts off the album before going into a more heavy old school metal direction as well as adding in some melody and a few seconds later vocals make their presence known in the music and the music shows traces of both thrash and true metal as well as a great amount of guitar solos and leads.
Spoken word parts can be heard in certain sections of the recording and the later tracks also see more hard rock styling's being added into their metal sound and they also mange to make an early 80's style of metal sound more modern and after awhile you can hear a good amount of speed metal and NWOBHM influences being mixed into their musical style and they also bring in a good amount of back up gang vocals.
Later on during the album clean playing makes its return at time s and the music also starts to alternate between slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and as the album progresses the music starts utilizing more punk rock style energy being mixed in with their old school metal sound.
Hell's Chopper play a very melodic and old school form of hard rock/heavy metal that they actually manage to make sound more modern, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover rock'n'roll and real life themes along with a touch of darkness.
In my opinion Hell'd Chopper are a very great sounding mixture of heavy metal and hard rock and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mental Blindness" "A Chopper From Hell" "Struggle For Breathe" and "Ride On You". 8/5 out of 10.
