F.A.C.E are a band from Bulgaria that plays a very progressive form of metal and rock and this is a review of their self released 2014 album "A New Light".
A very heavy progressive and psychedelic rock sound starts off the album along with some melodic guitar leads before adding in clean singing vocals and the music has a more 70's classic rock feeling and on the following tracks acoustic guitars start becoming a part of the bands musical sound.
The lead guitar work shows off influences from Steve Vai and Joe Satriani and others of that musical style and on the instrumentals that band starts adding more heavy metal influences into its progressive rock sound and the keyboards also bring in symphonic traces into certain sections of the recording.
When the vocals return the music starts going into a more progressive metal direction while also keeping around the psych and prog rock elements and they also bring in a few more instrumentals as well as a brief power ballad and some of the later tracks bring in an 80's metal/hard rock influence..
F.A.C>E sticks to mostly a progressive style of classic rock throughout the recording while metal is still a huge part of the bands musical sound and there is a great amount of talent, skill, diversity and melody throughout the album, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover real life themes in a darker manner.
In my opinion F.A.C.E are a very great sounding progressive mixture of metal and rock and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fly" "Nightmare" "Hate And Passion" and "Little Black Devil". 8 out of 10.
