Lilium Sova are a band from Switzerland that plays a mixture of noise, post rock and math metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Epic Morning" which was released by Call Or Ror Records.
Drums range from slow to mid paced to fast drumming with not much in the way of blast beats, while the violins, cellos and noise effects bring a very dark, experimental and avant garde sound to the recording, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful with heavy bass leads that dominates throughout the recording and there are the main instrument.
Rhythm guitars are all slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine math rock and post metal together to create a sound of their own and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording, as for the classical guitars they are only used briefly on the last song and they use finger picking to add some more dark elements to the recording.
Vocals and songwriting are mostly absent from this recording with the music being more instrumental except for one song that utilizes some aggressive style noise/hardcore growls and screams, while the song themes cover sleep and insomnia, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording along with a couple of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Lilium Sova are a very great sounding hybrid of noise, math rock and post metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "1:oo AM Locked Up Syndrome" "4:00 AM Parasomnia" and 7: AM Epic Morning". RECOMMENDED BUY.
