Vestal Claret are a band from Connecticut that play a mixture of doom, traditiontal metal and occult rock and this is a review of t heir 2009 ep "Lost Loved Ones" which was re-issued by NoVisibleScars with bonus tracks and re-issued by NoVisibleScars.
Drums range from slow to mid paced playing with no fast drumming or blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced riffs that combine doom, classic metal and occult rock together to create a sound of their own as well as a brief use of soft and clean playing, while t he lead gutiars are very dark and melodic sounding traditional metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly clean singing doom/traditional metal vocals along with a brief use of spoken word samples, while the lyrics cover Satanism, occultism, Thelema and other dark t hemes, as for the production it has a very dark, strong, powerful, heavy and old school sound to it with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Vestal Claret are a very great sounding hybrid of doom, classic metal and occult rock and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should c heck out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Devils Daughter" "Call To Satan" and "Dance Of The Witches(By Thelema)", RECOMMENDED BUY.
