Corrosion Of Conformity are a band that has been around for over 30 years with the musical style on this recording being crossover which is a mixture of thrash, punk, and hardcore and this is a review of their 1983 album "Eye For An Eye" which was re-issued by Candlelight Records during the year of 2012 with the 1985 ep "Six Songs With Mike Singing" being used for the bonus tracks.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sounding with heavy punk/riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine thrash, hardcore and punk together to create a sound of their own, while the lead guitars are very raw and primitive sounding punk/metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are all punk/hardcore style shouting, while the lyrics cover political and everyday themes, as for the production it h as a very heavy, raw and primitive sound while you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this was a great sounding recording from Corrosion Of Conformity and if you are a fan of this band, you probably already own this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Minds Are Confused" "Rednekkk" "Poison Planet" and "Eye For An Eye". RECOMMENDED BUY.
