Havok/Point Of No Return/Candlelight Records/2012 EP Review

Havok  are  a  band  from  Denver,  Colorado  that  plays  a  very  heavy  and  old  school  form  of  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  ep  "Point  Of  No  Return"  which  was  released  by  Candlelight  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  thrash  metal  riffs  that  are  very  heavy  and  old school  sounding,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  old  school  sounding  thrash  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  aggressive  sounding  thrash  screams  with  some  gang  back  up  vocals  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  clean  singing,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  everyday  themes,  as  for  the  production  it h as  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Havok  are  a  very  great  sounding  heavy  and  old  school  style  thrash  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  e.p.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Point  Of  No  Return"  and  "Arise"  which  is  a  Sepultura  cover.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "
