Sweet Cobra are a band from Chicago, Illinois that plays a mixture of post hardcore, metal and noise rock and this is a review of their 2015 album "Earth" which was released by Magic Bullet Records.
A very distorted sound starts off the album before going into a harder direction a few seconds later and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and after awhile melodic vocals make their presence known in the music and the music also brings in a great amount of post hardcore elements.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and the music also brings in the heaviness of metal and noise rock while some tracks also bring in elements of punk and the music also has a lot of roots in the 90's while also sounding very modern at the same time and there is also a brief use of psychedelic sounds while spoken word parts are also added on some of the tracks and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and acoustic guitars are added onto the last track.
Sweet Cobra plays a musical style that mixes melodic post hardcore and noise rock with metal to create a musical style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion Sweet Cobra are a very great sounding mixture of post hardcore, noise rock and metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Future Ghosts" "Sunburned Sons" "Jealous Of Drugs" and "Walls". 8 out of 10.
