Kings Destroy are a band from New York that plays a mixture of stoner rock and doom metal and this is a review of their self titled 2015 album which will be released in May by War Crime Recordings.
A very hard and heavy stoner rock sound starts off the album along with some clean singing doom metal vocals and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear a great amount of melody in the band s musical style and the songs also bring in a great mixture of both slow and mid paced parts.
You can hear a diversity of many different styles in the bands musical style from 70's rock, 80's doom, 90's grunge and modern stoner rock as well a s a touch of punk rock and the solos and leads they band brings onto the recording remain true to a stone r metal style and some of the tracks also bring in a small amount of clean playing and psychedelic elements at times along with one of the tracks being a power ballad while the main focus remains on a hard and heavy music style.
Kings Destroy plays a style that takes stoner rock and doom metal and mixes them together to create an album that is very retro and melodic yet also very heavy and modern at the same time, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Kings Destroy are a very great sounding mixture of stoner rock and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Smokey Robinson" "Mythomania" and "Time For War". 8 out of 10.
