Missiles Of October are a band from Belgium that plays a mixture of post hardcore, noise rock and sludge metal and this is a review of their 2012 ep "Hangover" which was released by Pogo Records.
Drum beats start off the ep along with some powerful sounding bass guitars which leads up to a heavier and darker direction along with some aggressive and spoken word style vocals and the music starts mixing hardcore, noise rock and sludge together along with soem melodic gutiar leads being utilized at times.
the music on the following tracks remain in the same direction of the first song and are always in slow and mid paced mode along with some 80's and early 90's style East Coast noise rock elements being thrown into the music and the vocals also start to get more aggressive and add in hardcore/sludge style screams.
Missles Of October go back to the early 90's styles of noise rock and post hardcore and mix it in with the heaviness of sludge metal to create a sound of their own, the production has a very dark, raw, heavy and old school feeling to it while the lyrics cover dark, addictions and alcohol themes.
In my opinion Missiles of October are a very great sounding mixture of post hardcore, noise rock and sludge metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Addictions" and "Wanna be". 8 out of 10.
