Death Denied are a band from Poland that plays southern metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 album "Transfuse the Booze".
A blues style of metal style riffing starts off the album along with some melodic vocals and a good amount of southern rock elements and the guitar leads go back to the 70's era of rock and you can also hear a great amount of 90's influences in the bands musical sound along with a touch of doom metal.
You can easily tell the band is big fans of Corrosion Of Conformity, Clutch and Down and there music sounds like it could of easily been released in 1995 and there is also a decent amount of melody in the bands musical style and on some of the tracks the band evokes a psychedelic feeling into their musical style which they mix in with their heavier sections and at times you can hear elements of grunge, groove metal and stoner rock being mixed in with the southern style metal this band plays.
As the album progresses clean and soft playing as well as a brief use of percussion's acoustic and slide guitars is added into certain sections of the recording which also gives the band a more commercialized hard rock feeling and there is also a brief use of female vocals being added onto one of the tracks and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Death Denied play a style of southern metal that is not very original but it is very well executed as well as being a great tribute to the bands that have had a huge influence on them, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover alcohol, inner struggles and sex.
In my opinion Death Denied are a very great sounding southern metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lady Liquor" "The Devil I Know" "The Mourning After" and "Dyin Time". 8 out of 10.
