Sleep are a band from California that has had music reviewed before in this zine and are one of the earlier bands playing stoner doom metal and this is a review of their 2014 single "The Clarity" which was re-issued in 2017 by Southern Lord Records.
Distorted sound s start off t he song before adding in heavy doom metal riffs and clean singing and you can also hear a lot of 70's influences in t he sound but done in a more modern fashion and the song is 10 minutes in length and the solos and leads also stick to a very retro fashion and the whole song sticks to a very slow musical direction.
Sleep creates another track that remains true to the stoner doom metal style they are known for while also create another epic song, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover cannabis and spirituality themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding track from Sleep and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this single. 8 out of 10.
