Oddhums are a band from Spain that plays a mixture of stoner, sludge, and post metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "The Clarity" which was released by Inverse Records.
Clean playing starts off the ep along with some heavy yet melodic sludge style riffing a few seconds later while the vocals are done in a clean stoner rock style and the solos and leads add in more of a post metal sound and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
Elements of ambient can also be heard at times along with some atmospheric synths and you can also hear influences of grunge and doom metal in the bands musical style and the music also gets very experimental at times while also keeping everything in a very slow yet dark musical direction as well as being diverse.
In my opinion Oddhums are a very great sounding mixture of stoner, sludge, and post metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS "Wounds" and "Under Seige". 8 out of 10.
