Dark Buddha Rising are a band from Finland that plays a psychedelic mixture of drone, sludge and doom metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Inversum" which was released by Neurot Recordings.
A very atmospheric sounding drone starts off the album which are also mostly done by synths and after awhile psychedelic elements are added into the music giving the recording a 70's feeling while the music still sounds very modern and after a couple of minutes drums and bass guitars make their presence known on the recording.
Both of the tracks are either 20 minutes or longer and when guitars are added into the music they are very melodic while the vocals are done in more of a clean singing fashion while also mixing in aggressive sludge style screams and the bass guitars also take over as a lead instrument at times and the guitars also add in more of a heavy doom metal style along with a brief use of clean yet distorted playing and the music also has it a very ritualistic feeling at times while also bringing in a jam or improv atmosphere and the whole album also sticks to a very slow and dark musical direction from beginning to ending of the recording.
Dark Buddha Rising creates a very slow, dark and heavy musical style that mixes psychedelia, drone, sludge and doom metal to create something very original and ritualistic sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Dark Buddha Rising are a very great sounding mixture of psychedelia, drone, sludge and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "EXO". 8/5 out of 10.
