King Hitter are a band from North Carolina that plays southern/stoner metal and this is a review of their self titled 2015 ep which will be released in March by Plastic head Distribution.
A very hard and heavy stoner rock sound starts off the ep along with some clean singing vocals and the music also brings in the energy of punk rock as well as incorporating a decent amount of melody and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear a heavy southern influenced metal sound in the heavier side of the music
When solos and leads are utilized they are very melodic and bring in even more of a retro metal/rock sound to the bands musical style and the songs also bring in the 90's elements of some of the other well known bands that some of the band members where a part of back in that time period and the songs also bring in a great mixture of both slow and mid paced parts.
King Hitter plays a style of stoner/southern metal that is more in touch with the 90's style than what bands are doing these days, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion King Hitter are a very sounding stoner/southern metal band and if you are a fna of this musicla genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Drone Again" and "Suicide (Is The Retirement Plan". 8 out of 10.
