Elvenstorm are a band from France that plays a mixture of heavy, power and speed metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Blood Leads To Glory" which will be released in September by Inferno Records.
Epic sounding keyboards start off the album along with some soft and clean guitars which leads up to a melodic guitar lead and after the intro the music starts going into more of an aggressive power speed metal direction as well as adding in clean singing vocals and you can also hear elements of thrash in their musical sound.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them along with a great amount of melodic power metal guitar solos and leads and the band also uses a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and keyboards also return in certain sections of the recording.
On some of the songs bass guitar leads are added into the music and most of the songs have an 80's metal sound to them while the production makes the music sound very modern and as the album progresses back up gang vocals can be heard at times and the clean guitars from the intro also make their return on a few of the tracks and on the 10 song Marta Gabriel of Crystal Viper makes a quest appearance and the last track is a cover of Savage Grace's "Into The Fire"
Elvenstorm remains true t their mixture of heavy, power and speed metal as well having more of a heavier sound this time around as well as sounding more darker than most bands of this musical genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and fantasy themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Elvenstorm and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Werewolves Of the East" "Black Hordes" "Where Angels Dare to Die" and "Into The Fire". 8 out of 10.
