Tragodia are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of gothic, thrash and progressive metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Mythmaker" which was released by Kolony Records.
"A Cry Among The Stars" begins with some melodic guitar leads and gothic sounding keyboards which lead up to some heavy progressive metal guitar riffs and drums along with some powerful b ass guitars and then the melodic power metal style vocals make their way into the song and after awhile the guitar solos start coming in and out of the song and the song closes with some industrial elements.
"The Oracle And The Muse" begins with some melodic guitar leads and ambient style keyboards before the drums and heavy guitar riffs make their way into the song and then the dark and melodic vocals make their way into the song and after a minute clean and progressive sections are added to t he song briefly before getting heavy again as well as adding in some powerful sounding bass guitars and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads being utilized.
'A Temple In Time" begins with a melodic guitar solos and keyboards before the bass guitars and drums make their way into the song and then t he vocals make their way into the song as well as some heavy and melodic guitar riffing which leads to some more guitar solos coming in and out of the song.
"Wisdom In The Meadows Of Sorrow" begins with some drum beats and heavy and melodic guitar riffs and then some power metal style vocals make their way in the song along with some aggressive elements and then the song starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and midway through the song there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads.
"Tidal Waves Of Greatness" begins with some soft acoustic guitar playing which utilizes both finger picking and full chords and then the melodic vocals make their way into the song and after awhile the melodic guitar riffs and leads along with some drums make their way into the song and then t he song starts switching back and forth between soft and heavy parts.
"In Arcadia" begins with some heavy and melodic guitar and bass riffs along with some drums before adding in some guitar leads and solos that come in and out of the song as well as some vocals.
''The Stone And The Idol" begins with some symphonic sounding synths and then the drums and heavy guitar riffs kick in before throwing in some melodic riffing and vocals which also lead to some guitar solos and leads being utilized as well as coming in and out of the song and midway through the song you can hear some powerful bass guitar playing.
"Born Under Niobe" begins with some heavy guitar riffs, drums and aggressive yet melodic vocals and then the music starts adding in some powerful bass and acoustic guitars while also keeping around the heavy elements along with some technical riffing and midway through the song their is a brief use of synths being utilized as well as some guitar leads.
"Mythmaker" begins with some heavy bass and guitar riffs along with some drums and then the vocals start kicking in and a few seconds later there is some melodic riffing and guitar leads being utilized.
'The Weeping Rock Of Seriphus" begins with some dark guitar riffs, drums and melodic guitar leads and this song is all instrumental.
Song lyrics cover ruins and decadence, while the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Tragodia are a very great sounding hybrid of gothic and progressive metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band.
