Lost Breed are a band from California that plays a very traditional form of doom metal with elements of rock and this is a review of their 1993 album "The Evil In You And Me" which was re-issued by Shadow Kingdom Records in the year of 2013.
"Rescind The Horde" begins with some drum beats which lead up to some bass guitars, melodic guitar riffing and clean singing hard rock/metal vocals and then the music goes into a 70;s doom metal direction and halfway through the song guitar solos and leads are added in for a few seconds.
"King OF Electric" begins with some hard rock/heavy metal guitar riffs and drums which lead to some vocals making their way into the song along with some back up shouts and after a couple of minutes there is a brief use of blues rock guitar solos and leads being utilized.
'Another Victim" begins with some heavy doom metal guitar riffs and drums along with some guitar leads a few seconds later the come in and out of the song and then the vocals make their presence known in the song and after a few minutes the solos and leads add in more 70s influences along with some powerful bass guitars being utilized before getting heavy again and towards the end there is a brief use of clean psychedelic guitar riffs.
"Coffin Cheater" begins with some heavy guitar and bass riffs and then t he drums kick in and the song goes more into a NWOBHM direction along with some vocals while also keeping around the doom elements and halfway through the song there are some guitar solos and leads being added in for a few seconds.
'The Postman" begins with some soft acoustic guitars which utilize both finger picking and full chords and then t he heavy guitar and bass riffs along with some drums kick in along with some vocals and the song adds in some thrash and speed metal elements and halfway it slows down and goes more into a doom metal direction along with some melodic riffing as well as a bass lead which also leads up to a brief use of guitar leads.
"Soul Chariot" begins with some heavy and old school guitar riffs along with some drums and powerful bass guitars before going into a heavier direction along with some vocals and after awhile melodic riffing is added to the song along with a brief use of guitar solos and leads.
'Lost Breed" begins with some acoustic guitar riffs which use both finger picking and full chords along with some vocals and then the drums, heavy guitar and bass riffs start kicking in and after awhile melodic riffing is added into certain sections of the song and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads which also leads to the song going into a more mid paced direction for a few seconds.
"The Evil In You And Me" begins with some heavy guitar and bass riffs along with some drums and then some melodic guitar riffing and vocals are added into the song and towards the end there is a brief use of melodic guitar solos and leads.
"Nation's Song" begins with some classic metal guitar and bass riffs and then the drums and vocals make their presence known in the song along with some melodic guitar riffing and halfway through the song guitar solos and leads are added to the mix.
'Say You Love Satan" begins with some dark and melodic guitar riffs and then the drums and melodic vocals start kicking in and then the music starts going into a heavier direction and as the song moves on there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads being utilized for a few seconds and then the song goes into a more clean direction for awhile with some acoustic guitars which also closes the song.
'Storm Comes Down" begins with some heavy guitar and bass riffs along with some drums and then t he vocals and guitar leads start kicking in as well as some melodic guitar riffing and halfway through the song there is a brief use of spoken word parts along with some middle eastern style guitar leads before getting heavy again.
Song lyrics cover darkness and evil themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy, dark, old school and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this album.
In my opinion Lost breed are a very great sounding doom metal/rock band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "King OF Electric" "Coffin Cheater" "The Evil In You And Me" and "Say You Love Satan". RECOMMENDED BUY.
