Dead South Dealers Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

Right now we are promoting our debut album. We are discussing some live performances and hopefully a video clip and even a mini-tour . Just the normal stuff!

2.A few months back you had released an album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

As a band we are inspired by many music styles and we wanted to express a unique sound. We made each track trying to give them their own character. The result is an album with a hard rock / southern sound to it.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored with your music so far?

"Walk through the line" contains 9 tracks , most of them are inspired by real life experiences. As you listen , the lyrics of the songs are for the most part moody , introverted and .. hell we are a metal band so they are kind of schizophrenic too at times. Some of them ,like "vinnie" are like short fictional stories that we made up.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Dead South Dealers'?

Well actually when we first got together back in 2013, we were very inspired music-wise , but couldn't make up our minds about the name of the band. We wanted something that would contain in it the metal spirit and the southern pentatonic way of playing. So, one night at the rehearsal studio, we were tossing off some ideas . That really paid off and after some serious brainstorming we had a name ready to stick on the flyers.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?

In our live performances we give ti our all every-time , and we like to see the crowd getting fired up. One show we will never forget is last December’s sold out show with Sober on Tuxedos and Rusty Bonez in Athens. A show full of energy, great bands that we respect and an amazing audience.

6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

We are strong believers that a band is truly active when it hits the road. Playing live is the only way to keep the standards high and to earn the fan's acceptance.

7.The new album was released on 'Sliptrick Records', are you happy with the support that they have given you so far?

Yes, very much. It's a company that has supported many great bands and musicians so far and we are lucky to have been able to work and make some magic with them.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of metal and hard rock?

The feedback is amazing! We thank each and everyone of you guys for listening our music from all over the world.

9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Nobody can say what the future will bring but hopefully we'll be able to keep rocking so that we can give you more music!

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

All five of us listen to different kinds of music. From classic rock to extreme metal. But our main path has been etched by some "hall of fame" bands such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and also we are inspired by some more modern bands like Alter Bridge , Mastodon , Clutch etc.

11.What are some of your non musical interests?

We are not only band members but very close friends too. We are enjoy spending quality time as friends. And yes we eat and drink! A lot!

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks a lot for the opportunity you gave us to share our word. We are thanking our fans for supporting us so far and we will keep the good stuff coming! With your help we've walked through the line !
