100 Years are a band from Sweden that plays indie metal with some elements of punk rock and this is a review of their self titled 2016 album which was released by Give Praise Records.
Distorted yet clean indie rock style playing starts off the album before adding in more of a heavy and melodic sound where you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the vocals are done in somewhat of a screaming and hardcore style of aggressive singing.
A lot of post metal and hardcore elements can be heard in the bands musical style and the solos and leads are also done in a very dark and melodic fashion and the music also takes a great amount of post punk influences from the 80's and mixes it in with a more modern style and when synths are utilized they give the music more of an atmospheric feeling and all of the tracks stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and some of the tracks are long and epic in length.
100 Years plays a musical style that takes post metal and mixes it in with indie rock and post punk to create a musical style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion 100 Years are a very great sounding indie metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Medicine Knows My Name" "Incedie" "All the Fools And Me" and "Concrete Eden". 8 out of 10.
