The Lidocaine are a band from Estonia that plays a very progressive form of metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Chicken Cage of Horror" which was released by Inverse Records.
Clean playing starts off the album and a few seconds alter heavy and melodic guitar riffs and leads are added onto the recording along with some blast beats being utilized at times and when vocals are added into the music they are very rough yet melodic at the same time and the music also brings in a decent amount of black up gang shouts.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of the songs also bring in a great mixture of both clean, acoustic guitar and heavy parts and some of the solos and leads also bring an old school feeling to the recording while the music still sounds very modern and some of the track bring in aggressive screams that also gives the music more of an extreme metal feeling and there are also a couple of tracks that are power ballads along with a brief use of female vocals and there are also a couple of tracks that are very long and epic in length
The Lidocaine plays a style of metal that is very dark, original, heavy and progressive sounding and brings in a variety of many different influences to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion The Lidocaine are a very great sounding progressive metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Chicken Cage of Horror" "Too Late To Escape" "Zest For Life" and "Voyage Of Discovery". 8 out of 10.
