Anckora Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new album?
Katrin Antares (voice): Actually after presentation of EP passed only summer:) There were some concerts, and some open air festivals with our participation. There are really not a lot of events, but it is quite good for us - we have a rest! At the end of September we recorded the new concert dvd, now there is in compilation.

2.In June you had released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
JonPriest (guitar): Musical sound changed - we decided to add the second guitar. However experiment isn't finished yet, and later our musical sound perhaps will change again. We worked hard on sound, and it seems that the purpose already absolutely close, but we aren't completely happy.

3.The band originally played more of a symphonic and gothic form of metal, what was the decision behind going into more of an industrial direction?
JonPriest: I always wanted to play something heavier, than simply heavy!

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?
Katrin Antares: The main subject is bright future in which there is no death. Therefore people of this future are fond of extreme sports, it allows to feel adrenaline! Lyrics, included in our new EP - about divers, about racers, about paraglider pilots and about cave explorers.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Anckora'?
Katrin Antares: It has no translation! "ANCKORA" - is simple the beginning of two nicknames of founders of the band.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
JonPriest: The best concerts are welcome Volgograd in 2011 and Tula together with Dreamtale. And still almost each concert in Olenino very fine! We act there every year. Also, unforgettable impressions were left by Finland!

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Katrin Antares: We have so many plans that one more interview will be required to tell about them! :) But I can tell that ahead a set of concerts in Russia and Europe.

8.The new album was released on Irond Records, can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
JonPriest: This is the Russian representative Nuclear Blast :) Irond Records is one of the leading underground labels in Russia.

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to the newer material by fans of alternative, industrial and metal?
JonPriest: The most different! I so understand, our musical sound is too unlike the standard canons, but thus the substantial and musical part nevertheless is close to an industrial and alternative. We either are loved or hated :) But nobody remains indifferent.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
Katrin Antares: I hope, we will be able to conquer the world! :)

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Katrin Antares: We are guided by Rammstein, but we seek to be similar only to ourselves!

12.What are some of your non musical interests?
JonPriest: Now of our non musical activity is important for us only construction of the house, our with Katrin, it takes away all forces. But in this house there will be a recording studio designed personally by me.
Katrin Antares: When we have more free time, we can devote it to trailering or a paraplanerism. Or to simply active recreation!

13.before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
JonPriest: I want to wish the peace to whole world. It very much isn't enough for all of us recently. Because of policy innocent people suffer.
