Godflesh are a band from England that plays a very heavy form of industrial metal with some death metal influences and this is a review of their 1989 album "Streetcleaner" which was released by Earache Records.
Drumm programming ranges from slow to mid paced beats that bring an industrial sound to t he music, while the bass playing h as a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced riffs that combine industrial metal with noise rock as well as having death metal influences being thrown into the riffing at times as well as some distorted drones and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly aggressive sounding industrial metal style growls and shouts with some spoken word parts in addition there is a brief use of clean singing, while the lyrics cover dark themes, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this was a great album from Godlesh and if you are a fan of this band, you probably already own this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Christbait Rising" "Devesator" "Life Is Easy" and "Dead Head". RECOMMENDED BUY.
