Deadneck are a band from Finland that plays a mixture of blues, psychedelic, stoner, drone and doom metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Levitation" which was released by Kozmik Artifactz.
A powerful sounding bass guitar starts off the album along with some clean playing a few seconds later along with a brief use of spoken word samples and when the music gets heavier it brings in elements of doom metal onto the recording as well as most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
A decent amount of melody can also be heard in the guitar riffing while the vocals are done in more of a blues rock style along with the solos and leads bringing in more of a retro 70's style as well as the stoner rock elements giving the music a more modern atmosphere and as the album progresses psychedelic touches are also added into certain sections of the recording and all of the songs stick to a very slow direction.
Deadneck plays a musical style that takes blues, psychedelic, drone, stoner and doom metal and mixers them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion Deadneck are a very great sounding mixture of blues, psychedelic, drone, stoner and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sleepless" and "Back On Top". 8 out of 10.
