Red Mountains are a band from Norway that plays a very psychedelic form of stoner rock and this is a review of their 2017 album "Slow Wander" which will be released in September by All Good Clean Records.
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album before going into more of a heavier direction which also introduces melodic guitar leads onto the recording along with some clean vocals while you can also hear the heaviness of metal in the guitar riffing and 70's influences are also used at times.
While the music has a lot of retro elements it still sounds very modern at the same time along with some touches of doom metal and as the album progresses psychedelic elements and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with a great amount of clean playing and one of the tracks is very long and epic in length and all of the music sticks to either a slow or mid paced direction.
Red Mountains plays a style of stoner rock that is very psychedelic while also adding in a touch of doom metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Red Mountains are a very great sounding psychedelic stoner rock band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Home" "Endless Ocean" "Fog" and "Acid Wedding". 8 out of 10.
