Grand Delusion are a band from Sweden that plays a mixture of heavy, doom, and stoner metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Supreme Machine" which will be released on July 14th by Minotauro Records.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album along with the heaviness of doom metal while the solos and leads add in touches of 70's and stoner rock along with the vocals being clear and mostly done in a proto metal style and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
While the music is very retro it still maintains a more modern day feeling and the music also brings in a great amount of traditional metal and hard rock influences and on some of the tracks the vocals start displaying more aggression and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with stringed instruments also being utilized briefly while a later track adds in a brief use of psychedelic elements and they also keep everything to either a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Grand Delusion plays a musical style that takes traditional and doom metal and mixes it with stoner and 70's hard rock to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Grand Delusion are a very great sounding mixture of heavy, stoner and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Just Revolution" and "Imperator". 8 out of 10.
