Lethe are a duo from Norway that plays an experimental and avant garde form of metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "The First Corpse On The Moon" which will be released on February 24th by My Kingdom Music.
Distorted drones start off the album along with some drum beats a few seconds later which also leads up to clean guitars being added onto the recording along with some melodic leads and female vocals as well as some keyboards and the music also incorporates a great amount of trip hop elements.
Most of the guitar riffs bring in a decent amount of heaviness and melody into the music and male vocals are also utilized at times and there is also a great amount of acoustic guitars presented throughout the recording and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with the music also being very avant garde and experimental and saxophones can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and hip hop style vocals while a later track also adds in stringed instruments.
Lethe plays a musical style that takes experimental, avant garde, trip hop, electro, pop and metal and mixes them together to create something very original, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Lethe are a very great sounding avant garde metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Night" "My Doom" "Snow" and "Exorcism". 8 out of 10.
