Cliterati are a band from Portland, Oregon that plays a mixture of crust, d beat and hardcore punk and this is a review of their self titled and self released 2016 ep.
Drum beats and crust style guitar riffing starts off the ep along with some female hardcore style vocals and the songs also mix in a great amount of d beat elements and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also mix in 80's and 90's influences with a more modern style.
A lot of old school punk rock elements can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording and none of the songs ever use any guitar solos or leads while a great amount of back up vocals are used on the tracks and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and after awhile the vocals start utilizing more screams and there is also a brief use of melody and the ep also remains very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording and one track also adds in blast beats.
Cliterati plays a musical style that takes crust, d beat and hardcore punk and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover hateful and political themes.
In my opinion Cliterati are a very great sounding mixture of crust, d beat and hardcore punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Make America Hate Again" and "Marked by God". 8 out of 10.
