Acoustic Anomaly are a band from Russia that plays post metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Dominvs. Tinea" which was released by Symbol Of Domination Productions.
A very hard and heavy guitar sound starts off the album and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and after awhile clean singing vocals make their presence known in the music and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic musical direction.
Elements of goth can be heard in the vocals and the songs also bring in a great amount of atmospheric synths which also gives the music more of and experimental edge along with the guitar riffing also using a great amount of melody and spoken word samples can also be heard in certain sections of the recording.
Traces of post metal can be heard throughout the recording along with a great portion of the tracks being very long and epic in length and some tracks add in a small amount of clean guitar playing and some tracks also bring in touches of alternative and indie rock as well as some shoegaze elements and as the album progresses the vocals start getting more aggressive on some tracks which also gives the music a touch of industrial metal while also introducing a brief use of flutes and tribal sounds.
Acoustic Anomaly plays a style of post metal that takes a great amount of influences from a variety of different genres to create something very original, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Russian and cover metaphysics, dreams and surreal themes.
In my opinion Acoustic Anomaly are a very great sounding post metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Everything Is Passing" "Into The Garden Of Grief (Lament)" and "Unity". 8 out of 10.
