Critical Solution are a band from Norway that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of heavy and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Sleepwalker" which was released by Punishment 18 Records.
Dark sound effects along with clean guitars and distorted guitar leads start off the album along with some spoken word samples and after the intro the music goes into more of a heavier thrash metal direction along with soem blast beats and the riffs also using a great amount of melody and after awhile aggressive yet melodic vocals are added onto the recording.
back up gang shouts can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic fashion and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music also gets very brutal at times along with a small amount of blast beats and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with one of the tracks being an instrumental while the remaining songs do bring back in a great amount of vocals.
Critical Solution creates another recording that contains all of the heaviness and aggression of thrash metal while also mixing in the melody of traditional metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Critical Solution and if you are a fan of melodic thrash metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sleepwalker" "Evidence Of things Unseen" "Dear Mother" and "Back From The Grave". 8 out of 10.
