Agresiva are a band from Spain that plays a very aggressive and old school form of thrash metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Eternal Foe" which was re-issued in 2016 by Minotauro Records.
Thunder, rain and war sounds start off the album along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds later that lead up to a heavier musical direction and after the intro the music starts going for more of an old school thrash metal style which also uses a small amount of blast beats and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Vocals are mostly done in a clean singing fashion while also having its aggressive moments and while the music is heavily rooted in the 80's the production gives the songs more of a modern feeling and clean playing also makes a return in certain sections of the recording while the solos and leads remain true to an old school style of thrash metal.
At times the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the war samples also make a return on some songs while some tracks also bring in a small amount of back up gang shouts and they close the album with 2 bonus demo tracks.
Agresiva plays a style of thrash metal that is very heavy and old school but done with more of a melodic vocal approach, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover war, politics and society themes.
In my opinion Agresiva are a very great sounding heavy and melodic old school thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Pale horse (Re'd Death)" "The End Of the Game" "Sent To War" and "Betrayed". 8 out of 10.
