Space God Ritual are a band from Oregon that plays a 70's inspired form of doom metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Eldritch Tales" which was re-issued in 2015 by Kozmik Artifactz.
Clean playing starts off the album and a few seconds later the music starts going into more of a doom metal direction along with some clean singing and atmospheric synths and when solos and leads are utilized they are very dark and melodic sounding and a good portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Most of the music is heavily rooted in a 70's style of doom metal and some of the tracks bring in a small amount of evil sounding laughter and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and all of the songs avoid any modern trends to focus more on a retro and old school style of doom metal.
Space God Ritual plays a style of doom metal that is more rooted in the 70's and early 80's era of the genre, the production sound s very old school yet professional at the same time while the lyrics are based on the writings of H.P Lovecraft.
In my opinion Space God Ritual are a very great sounding doom metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mad Alhazred" "Necromantic Woman" and "Web of The Witch World". 8 out of 10.
