Reasons Behind are a band from Italy that plays a very symphonic form of power metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "The Alpha Memory" which was released by Maple Metal Records.
Water and thunder sounds start off the album along with some spoken word samples and a music box which leads up to melodic female vocals and depressing sounding keyboards and after the intro the music starts adding in more progressive and symphonic elements as well as going into more of a heavier direction and there are also a few tracks on the recording that are very long and epic in length.
The music also keeps the vocals from the intro and they also take the music into more of a power metal direction and the riffs also bring in elements of thrash and speed metal at times and when solos and leads are added into the music they also enhance the progressive nature of the bands musical style and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them.
There is a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts present throughout the recording along with a small amount of blast beats being utilized at times and as the album progresses the music also brings in more of a modern prog metal sound and some of the songs also have a goth feeling to them at times.
Reasons behind plays a style of power metal that is very progressive and symphonic sounding and also has a touch of goth and the songs are very heavy yet melodic at the same time, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based on memories and their link to identity.
In my opinion Reasons Behind are a very great sounding symphonic power metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Under the Surface" "The Ghost Under My Skin" and "The Alpha Memory". 8 out of 10.
