Titan Force are a band from Colorado Springs, Colorado that has a history dating back to the 80's and is more well known for having Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin (Jag Panzer, Satan's Host, Riot)" as a singer and plays a progressive form of power/heavy metal and this is a review of their 2014 compilation album "Force Of the Titan" which was released by Skol Records.
A very melodic 80's heavy metal sound starts off the compilation along with some talented guitar leads and all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them along with some clean singing vocals and the music has a NWOBHM feeling and on a few tracks the bring in small amounts of classic guitars which also bring in a progressive feeling to the bands musical style..
On the earlier tracks the music has more of a traditional metal sound which also seems to be influenced by the 70's style of this genre at times and on some of the tracks you can hear bass guitar leads being added into certain sections of the recording along with some back up gang shouts and the later songs shows the band going for more of a power metal sound and speeding up a bit on the riffs and they also bring in a small amount of progressive rock style synths on one of the later tracks.
Titan Force played a style of heavy metal that was very common for its time in the 80's and they also add in more progressive elements and go more into a power metal direction as the album progresses and you can tell the band is very great at what they where doing, the production sound s very professional for the time it was recorded while the lyrics cover everyday themes.
In my opinion Titan Force are a very great sounding mixture of heavy, power and progressive metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Too Late" "Fist To The Sky" "Toll Of Pain" and "Fields of Valor". 8 out of 10.
