Ignis Fatuu are a band from Germany that plays a mixture of folk metal and mittelalter rock and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Wenn alle Worte schweigen" which was released by TrollZorn Records.
Drums range from slow to mid paced playing with no fast drumming or blast beats being present on this recording, while the flutes and bagpipes bring a very dark and medieval sound to the recording as well as some sound effects they bring elements of electronic music to the recording, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced riffs that combine folk metal and mittelalter rock together to create a sound of their own with a good amount of melody as well as some clean playing being thrown into the riffing at times and there are no guitar solos or leads present on t his recording.
Vocals are all clean singing male and female vocals, while the lyrics are written in German and cover dark and medieval themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Ignis Fatuu are a very great sounding hybrid of folk metal and mittelalter rock and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should c heck out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Der Rabe und der Wolf". RECOMMENDED BUY.
