Ministry/The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste/Sire Records/1989 Cassette Review

Ministry  are  a  band  from  Chicago,  Illinois  that  are  very  well  known  with  the  musical  style  on  this  recording  being  industrial  metal  and  this  a  review  of  their  1989  album  "The  Mind  Is  A  Terrible  Thing  To  Taste"  which  was  released  by  Sire  Records.

Drum  programming  ranges  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  programmed  beats,  while  the  samples  bring  an  industrial  sound  to  the  music,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  industrial  metal  riffs  that  where  very  heavy  for  time  with  some  thrash  metal  influences  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals are  mostly  harsh  sounding  industrial  style  vocals  along  with  a  good  amount  of  spoken  word  samples  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  clean  singing,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  political  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  for  the  time  it  was  released.

In  my  opinion t his  was  a  very  great  sounding  recording  from  Ministry  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  band,  you  probably  already  own  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Thieves"  "Burning  Inside"  "Breathe"  and  "So  What".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
