Blood Feast where a band from New Jersey that played a very raw and primitive form of thrash metal bordering on early death metal and this is a review of their 1987 album "Kill For Pleasure" which was released by New Renainsse Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with primitive and heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast thrash metal that are very raw and primitive sounding with some traits of early death metal, while the lead guitars are very raw and primitive sounding thrash/death metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are all early death/thrash screams and growls with some melodic parts that border more on thrash metal, while the lyrics cover darkness, gore and evil themes, as for the production it has a very heavy, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Blood Feast where a very great sounding pre death metal area raw and primitive thrash metal band and if you are interested in checking out the roots of death metal, you should get this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kill For Pleasure" "Vampire" "Blood Lust" and "The Evil". RECOMMENDED BUY.
