Big | Brave are a band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada that plays an experimental form of metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Au De La" which was released by Southern Lord Recordings.
A very dark ad distorted sound starts off the album along with some drum beats a few seconds later before adding in some female vocals and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and you can also hear some ambient and atmospheric sounds being added into some parts of the songs.
A great portion of the music is very experimental while also adding in drones and elements of post rock and as the album progresses the music starts getting more avant garde and all of the songs stick to a very slow musical direction while the guitars do get moody and melodic in soem parts of the recording.
Big | Brave plays a musical style that takes experimental, drone and post metal and mixes them together t o create something very dark, heavy and original, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion Big | Brave are a very great sounding mixture of experimental, drone and post metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Look At How the World Has Made A Change" and "And As the Waters Go". 8 out of 10.
