Author & Punisher are a solo project from California that has been featured before in this zine and plays an industrial form of doom metal with elements of noise and and this is a review of his 2016 album "Melk En Honing" which was released by Housecore.
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album along with some drones and after a few seconds aggressive vocals are added onto the recording and after awhile the music starts to get a a lot more heavy while also being experimental at the same time and melodic chants can also be heard at times.
A great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and elements of industrial are mixed into the music quite a bit throughout the recording along with the vocals also getting melodic at times and the guitar riffing brings in the heaviness of doom metal and clean playing along with synths can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and some songs also add in a touch of electronic music and the whole album also sticks to a very low musical sound.
Author & Punisher creates another recording t hat takes industrial metal and mixes it in with the heaviness of doom metal along with some experimental elements to create a musical style of his own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album form Author & Punisher and if you are a fan of industrial and doom metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cauterize" "Disparate" and "Void, Null Alive". 8 out of 10.
